Ticket Giveaway: Cirque Dreams Holidaze

I'm so excited to be offering Loueyville's first ticket giveaway!

Up for grabs:  Two tickets to opening night (11/23) of Cirque Dreams Holidaze at the Louisville Palace Theater.

Sure, it's awfully early to be thinking about winter holiday type stuff... or so you'd think.  But the fact of the matter is, there are Christmas cards in Walgreens already and Actors Theater is premiering "A Christmas Story" on November 9th.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze is a musical, holiday extravaganza where ornaments come to life and perform astonishing feats of acrobatics and choreography.  The production, created and directed by Neil Goldberg, will be featured at the Palace Theater from Nov 23-28.  Tickets are on sale now.

To win tickets: Comment below and tell me about your favorite winter holiday "ornament."  What's the one thing you can't imagine leaving off your Christmas tree?  What is your favorite Hanukkah decoration?  What decoration do you drag out from the attic/basement/closet this time of year that most puts you into the holiday spirit?  On November 14, I will choose, at random, a winner from the comments.

UPDATE:  I now have FOUR tickets to give away.  So on November 14, I will choose winner #1 who can opt to take all 4 tickets (take the family!) or just take 2 (date night!).  If winner #1 just takes 2 tickets, I'll draw a second winner for the other pair of tickets.

So fun! i've never been to a Cirque show, they're always so expensive.

my mom was a teacher (retired after 32 years) so we always had tons and tons of school-themed ornaments. (too many, really, i mean how many apples does a person need on a tree?) but there was one ornament my sisters and i still argue about 20 year later, when mom asked us if there were any ornaments we'd like for our own trees, and that's a tiny one-room schoolhouse made by hallmark. the detail is really interesting both inside and out and a few children are putting on a nativity play.
while i can't speak for my sisters i know the reason i like it so much is that there's a hole for you to plug in a light from the christmas tree to light up the inside of the schoolhouse. it's such a simple, charming device that functions to make the ornament so much more interesting.

Wow, thank you for offering this.

Favorite holiday decoration? Ha, can't just say one. I have been collecting 2 types of ornaments for a while- 1 from each place we vacation to (may or may not originally be a Christmas ornament) and the other type are glass blown ornaments in the shape of things.

What an amazing giveaway! I have a small collection of snowmen knick-knacks that I love digging out of the newspaper every year. I"m not really a knick-knack person usually, but these really get me in the holiday mode.

I have 2 crystal Ballerinas that are my favorite and mush go on the tree. My mom gave them to me when I was a kid. I like to spin them on the string really tight and let them go, they look like they are dancing.

Growing up my mom worked for a Christmas retailer and we had 7 Christmas tress ever year. My sisters and I each got our own to decorate and put what we wanted on them.

oh man-I don't enter many blog contests, but oh... Cirque... O.o

My Christmas angel. The DH bought me one that I'd fallen in love with. It's the last thing we put on the tree and it's a 'special' thing the kids fight over.

My favorite ornament is this crazy papier-mache Santa Claus that I made as a kid. My mom gave me a bunch of family ornaments as a gift a few years ago, when I was living out of town and unable to get home for the holiday. That Santa Claus was the one that *really* made me cry when I took it out of the box.

I have done many theme trees over the years- but my current theme is....the New England Patriots! So actually- as soon as football season starts, I start getting into holiday mode. As for ornaments, I took silver and blue globes and put Patriots uniform parts that I found in the scrapbooking section of Michael's on them. They are my favorite- more so than the actual "official" Pats ornaments that I bought just before we left New England.

I think this will be the last year for that tree- but I will be keeping those ornaments to give to my son when he gets a new place.

christmas is my second favorite holiday (right after halloween), but i don't really do the whole christmas decoration thing. no tree. no wreath. no hanging of stockings. i'm weird like that.

but i do have one ornament that i have in a box in my guest room closet that i've kept over the years: it's turquoise and chipping and about 10 years old, but i love it so.

Awesome giveaway - especially the maker slant to it! My can't-live-without Christmas ornament is the one and only Christmas pickle. Yup, that's right, a pickle. It has survived three moves across two states, and is always the last ornament to go on the tree.

My mother-in-law kept every handmade ornament that my husband had made as a child. She recently gave them as a Christmas gift to us, and it was so much fun to see my husband's reaction! He could remember the stories behind each one:)

We got engaged in 2008 in Walt Disney World. Shortly after, we made sure to go over and get an ornament to celebrate the occassion. We had our names and date written on it so we would always remember our engagement. Every year, this is the first ornament we put on the tree together. Next year for Christmas, we will finally be married as then the tradition will move on to a new "Just Married" ornament. :)

My favorite ornament is the Christmas Pickle! It's an old tradition where a small pickle ornament is hidden somewhere within the tree and the first person to find it gets a special treat or gift. This keeps my four children intently looking at the Christmas tree on a daily basis! Once it is found, I usually re-hide it for another lucky winner. Thanks!

What a generous giveaway!
I have had a small Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for the last 28 years. this was a gift from a little girl when I was 17 years old. to me it represented the true spirit of giving.
With my own family I try to instill this same spirit of generosity.

The special ornament would have to be a small stuffed reindeer that was given to me 28 years ago by a little girl (the little sister of a girl friend). To me this represents the true spirit of giving. I have cherished this gift all of these years and try to instill that same spirit of giving to my own children.

My daughter made an angel when she was in first grade out of a tiny flower pot, pipe cleaners and paint ~~ I love it, and no matter what theme we go w/ on the tree, the angel has a place of pride. She's made others that I put up every year, but the Angel is by far the most dear to me.

Each year , my parents made us feta new ornament for the tree. Although I enjoy this tradition now, it was a bit of an annoyance when I was a kid. Out of rebellion, I bought an Oscar the grouch ornament when o was 15. To this day, it is my favorite little expression of joy.

This is great! My favorite Christmas decoration is a pewter nativity scene. My sweet team from Mexico gave this to me when I worked there. It is something that is 'mexican' but isn't a tacky tourist thing.
I love having it out!
